forget Bieber fever (which, incidentally, I am ashamed to say I have been caught in the grip of, but more on that another time), the only fever sweeping through Sydney right now is a fashion one. Last Wednesday Garance had her winter with westfield launch that I was lucky enough to be invited to (much pinching was involved when that invite was received, let me tell you), and it was completely fabulous. Garance and Patty Huntington of frockwriter conducted a Q&A about her rise and rise, illustration, bloggers vs journalists and where blogging would go in the future. She was surprisingly eloquent, and funny, for someone talking in her second language, and obviously stylish beyond belief. I especially loved her waxing lyrical about Australia, saying that she could really see herself living here. We would welcome you with open arms, Garance!
Anyway I urge you all to go check out the illustrations for the installation at Westfield Bondi Junction or Doncaster if you can, they are absolutely stunning. Garance said that illustration is her first passion and her true love, she said that her photos are painterly and more artistic in some respects that other street style photographers because of her illustration background. You can tell her style so well from the different pictures, it's truly lovely.
