I don't ask much of my magazines.
Fantastic (in terms of fantasy) editorials that take me away from where i am into another world, and that world doesn't have to be one where the girls are all impossibly thin and tall bedecked in the latest couture and frollicking in meadows or whatnot (although to these editorials i have no complaints), it can be a world where the girls are black city demons with talons for feet and sharp suits with jutting shoulders on top. Articles that are example of top journalism, writing that is fascinating and interesting and vibrant about things, people and places that are fascinating, interesting and vibrant.
A cover that delights and excites, that makes me want to go out to the store and purchase it, not just sit around on the internet lazily clicking through scans of the editorals. A layout that is slick and well-designed, with interesting text and graphics to kill for. Oh, and i also want it to smell good. You know how British vogue smells? that delightful mix of perfume samples and whatever it is they scent their wafer thin paper with? mmmmm.
Though i can't vouch for the smell, i am sure that this is going to fulfill my requirements for a magazine:

I only hope that the cover that reaches australia will be this one, although i expect the non-subscribers one will have more text and less loveliness.
I mean the fact isn't even that it's Alexa Chung on a cover, although i think she looks stunning here. It's more a combination of what looks like the epitome of a mille feuille dress (SATC an american girl in paris part une, anyone?), beautiful scribbly scrawly fonts, and alexa's pose which is, for the cover of a fashion magazine, quite simply delightful. The hand raised to cover her eyes from the sun, it's.... it's typical alexa, that's what it is, refreshing and playful and not taking herself, or fashion too seriously.
Sounds like my kind of girl!
