I love this kind of weather, when it's heating up, but the air is still crisp. As if you could slice through it with a knife. There is a chill, but it is a calm, easy one. You don't need a big coat (but, by all means, wear one if you want). All you need is a huge sweater, soft and worn at the elbows and the hem, once itchy now thinned after years of hand-washing. I have a few, legacies from my dad, that I love to slip into when the weather is like this. The sky is oh so blue, but you can't quite walk around in tee shirts just yet. My dad had a thing for big sweaters in the 80s, and these are just perfect - bottle green cable knits, burgundy stocking stitch, and one gloriously kitsch cream jumper that looks like it was ripped from the back of a Scottish highland farmer. They all look perfect with a pair of ripped jeans, just as they do with a tailored skirt. That's the power of good clothes. You can wear them whenever you want, with whatever you want. And especially in weather like this.
