Ah this post is just a little bit of nothing, really. A bit of silliness. I've decided to grow out my hair, in particular my front fringe, and all systems are go really. It is so odd not having that curtain of hair behind which i used to hide, with most of my forehead on display i feel a little more vulnerable, and i think i look like an alien! i'm so used to having this sort of helmet of hair, it's odd to see skin now haha. Anyway, the fringe that Sienna Miller has in this picture is such fringespiration for me, sort of growing very long from the top of her head, kind of like an overgrown front-fringe. That is the look i'm going for, and i'm half there. :D
Secondly, i thought i would share with like-minded people my recent shopping successes. Firstly was the purchase of the month for me, this amazing josh goot skirt at the sample sale that ended today on oxford st in paddington. Marked down an incedible much to $150, this beautiful assymetrical whispy skirt in two layers of the most gorgeous silk chiffon, with a lovely interesting tye-dye ripple effect in the colours, veering between charcoal, grey, black, white, cream... It is so lovely, it is a dream on, and it moves like no other skirt i have. I'm supposed to be saving up to go overseas, but i thought i would treat myself to this beautiful skirt that i know will be a great 'basic' with a twist, and i have already worn it today with a white tee shirt and blazer, and thought it looked particularly fab.
terrible pic i know, it doesn't give you a feel for how the skirt is on, it looks like a cloud of grey and charcoal when you wear it, so so so so so beautiful. And this is the skirt worn as a dress and in different colours on the runway in london!
My other purchase was this pair of kerazy cool gladiators in the style of alexa chung, closed in, very strappy, and so much fun to wear. And comfortable, which is of course a pair of shoes ought to be if they possibly can. They were a steal at $60 at kazui on oxford st, and a desperately needed pair of shoes considering my target gladiators just died after schoolies. But then, i got a lot of wear out of them, almost every day for 2 months, and they were from target after all. One does not expect quality, does one?
Another fun thing, Sarah from This Organised Chaos has tagged me with a tag she has made up herself. It is lots of fun, and very clever, and so i am so excited to be one of the first people tagged to do it! Basically you just have to finish the sentences...
1.I am.. incredibly odd, a nose in a book and head in the clouds thinking about couture and austen and chocolate fudge.
2.I love it when... my mum bakes and the whole house fills up with the smells of cooking and raspberry flan.
3.Karl Lagerfeld is.. not a human, or at least pushing the boundaries of what human is towards the alien.
4.Tomorrow... is another day...... ! :D
5.I have to confess... i hate caroline trentini....
6.If i had one million dollars i would buy...a chanel 2.55 jumbo!
7.The future... is scary, but exciting at the same time!
8.Maybe i should... go for a run.... but then maybe i should also eat that chocolate cake my mum just cooked haha.
Just a little bit of harmless fun, right? I tag
And finally, just my last little bit of blog stuff, i have been given this lovely award by All Things British, Pixie Dust and Rose Petals and Rosie Posie Rosie (links in sidebar).... I was so bashful and grateful and happy i could have squealed out loud (and i think i did haha). It is a lovely award that is just so sweet and adorable.
"Blogs who receive this award are "exceedingly charming," says its authors.
The award is a fine one because it focuses not on the glory and fanfare of blogging,
but in the PROXIMITY to one another through this online-world.
"This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming.
These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends.
They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement!
Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut,
even more friendships are propagated.
Please give more attention to these writers!
Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more
and include this clever-written text into the body of their award."

I am so very honoured to be the recipient of this award, and can think of only one blog to hand this off to: the lovely Brigadeiro, currently spending her christmas break in the folds of Brazil and Buenos Aires, and i am so jealous! Her blog is such fun to read, filled with her outfits of impeccable taste and faultless style and her thoughts about fashion, family and life.
So there you go, another day, another post. I hope your weekend has been much fun! Mine certainly has been. And now i'm tired and off to retreat into wives and daughters by elizabeth gaskell, a slice of that chocolate cake and a cup of tea. The weather in sydney is so weird at the moment! Much love to you all, catch you on the flipside.
