I don't know why, but i love this photo. I sort of wish it could have been included in the issue actually, because i just love the playfulness of the shot, the contrast between not only the height of the fashion assistant and myf shepherd (the model), but also in the colour and brightness of myf's romance is born outfit and the fashion girl's all black, loose drapey number. Her high bun, Myf's loose, flowing locks. Her flat gladiator sandals and Myf's skyscraper ankle strap heels. It's gloriously cute, and fantastical in a very odd, weird kind of way. It just highlights how crazy the world of fashion can be, how wild and wacky and wonderful...
I love it when a photographer can capture a moment like this. In the most recent episode of Australia's Next Top Model the shot they used for Tahnee (one of the girls) was actually not in the official shoot, it was testing light and so on, with Tahnee peering over the edge of the pylon into the water. It's serene and calm and very, almost achingly beautiful.
Natural shots, in my opinion, can stop you in your tracks. Both of these shots have been dominating my thoughts this week. They are just arresting... Yes, arresting is the best word for it. They bring a soft smile to my face.
