Paris Fashion Week, so far, has been all about skin. Not surprising for Paris, really, is it? Here I'm talking about colour. For summer designers have unanimously been turning to one of two options: the first is brights in juicy hues of tangerine, turquoise and tourmaline, the second are all the colours of the nude rainbow highlighted with the romance of blush. I'm talking gorgeous, gorgeous shades like sand, toffee, caramel - these aren't heavy camel coats but floaty skirts in beige, diaphanous dresses in oatmeal, the colours that remind you of beaches, bare, freckled shoulders and Tom Ford's warm sable lipstick. These are colours that practically sing of summer, that time of year when flesh is always in, and skin browns and glows. This summer I'm feeling nudes in a big way. I recently bought a beautiful Gary Bigeni oversized shirt in "sand" that is really quite a wondeful colour - not dissimilar to the colour of The Row pantsuit in picture 1. I'm going to pair it with sleeveless trenches, beige slacks and a pair of espradrilles for something akin to tonal dressing.
