Pisa was so much fun. Sure it was touristy and silly but it's the leaning tower after all. If you're going there you might as well indulge the kitsch. What I loved the most, however, was the Baptistry, beautiful and sparse, in contrast to the extravagance of the Cathedral (the roof was gold, the roof was gold), with a spectacular dome and that peculiar quiet, empty stillness of a sacred space.
