This week has been cold... oh so cold! I had to go to uni a couple of days, but the rest I've spent huddled up in my house, planning a dinner party (that i'll now have to reschedule, family emergency), and cooking cloud cake for a friend of mine who's been feeling ill. I've watched an entire season of desperate housewives for my media assignment, and am now remembering exactly why i loved it at the time - camp, over the top, soap-opera goodness. Other than that i've been slavishly checking style.com as shows are updated, seeing freja, lara and baptiste's romp in the hay at the end of the chanel show, of the leather-y goodness at the celine show, seeing carefree strawberry prints (?) at YSL by stefano pilati.

Gotta love easy glamour. The plain white tee shirt, the classic satin blazer with slight shoulder pads, the easy breeze jeans, the sexy pumps... I could have lived for jeans that were cuffed, instead of hemmed that way, and a little bit darker, perhaps. But hey, perhaps she went all light because of her sunny complexion and her stunning blonde hair. This is such a good outfit for a fashion show, especially that of her best friend Stella McCartney, because she's all about the easy glamour. The classic blazers, the well cut jeans, the sexy heels... I could live all year long in Stella McCartney, and be some chic parisienne. Or Gwyneth Paltrow. Hm.. I'm not making much sense. It's a nice jacket.

I love Lily Allen's fashion metamorphosis. I loved her when she was that exuberant chavtastic teenager singing about cheating boyfriends and saying i love you. But I think i love her current sloane ranger meets fashionista look even more. She's loving her new body, and not afraid to show it off in things like, say, leather leggings and thigh high boots. She's loving her status as fashion darling thanks to Kaiser Karl taking her under his wing, hence the proliferation of her chanel bags (this one an adorable azure blue, jumbo size to fit everything in). She's still the same witty, cheeky Lily, but with better, more sexy clothes.
And nothing says fashion metamorphosis quite like this, Lily Allen performing 'Not Fair' at the Chanel SS 10 show, wearing an outfit fresh from the show itself, manicured nails in the new chanel jade, a mushroomy brown colour sure to set hearts afire come next winter, in a fashion set that was, reportedly inspired by her video for 'Not Fair'. It is a huge honour for Lily that Karl was inspired by her video, and was moved to stage his runway show, one of the most lauded and most anticipated of the season, in a set that resembled her video and gave more than a nod to her sexy cowgirl mentality. A fashion dream, surely.

Oh Clemence, where oh where have you been? you've left me hanging, checking your tfs thread daily looking for updates on your whereabouts, your upcoming films, your fashion, your hair... And finally you turn up, artfully dishevelled and irrevocably french, at the Chanel Show. I loved the little bows on her shoes, the knee patches on her jeans, her military inspired jacket, her little quilted bag. I love Clemence - she's supremely beautiful in such an unexpected way. And she doesn't let that beauty get in the way of her work, her style and her life. This outfit is monochrome, greys and blacks, and should be very boring. But it's not. It's really not. It's people who have innate style that can turn this into a fascinating ensemble, the pairing of the greys and blacks together, the various different greys - charcoal to dove. the different kinds of textures and proportions. It's all perfect. Tres bien!

Pregnancy suits her. She's got that radiancy, that glow, that pregnant women get when they're very, very happy. I really do like Dasha, despite everything people say about her i think she's got the goods as both the editor of pop and as an art curator. I mean, she's got a good eye. She's got great taste, look at this outfit, leather waistcoat, plain grey long sleeve tee, tapered pants, simple shoes. It's incredibly chic, especially for a pregnant woman. I like that she's putting on weight too, even if it's not as much as the bulk of pregnant women i know, but at least more than the Vogue Paris girls (has anyone seen, Geraldine is pregnant now too, still wearing les chiffoniers, though). I'm going to rock this look soon, minus the pregnant belly, though.
