you look lovely today... just today?

This week has seen the opening of my most anticipated film this month, 'The September Issue'. Anna assembled a stellar cast to attend the premiere, some represented here today, and all in all did a good job of raising my spirits from last weeks complete train wreck of stylish celebs. The usual suspects are here this week, stunning as always.

Diane Kruger

You know, just for one day i'd like to be Diane Kruger. Just see what it's like, you know? What it's like to be that stunningly beautiful in a real glacial, scandinavian way. Seriously she looks like she has just returned from roaming a field somewhere, rolling around in jasmine scented grass. I'd love to just see what it would be like to have that golden hair, and that killer wardrobe, and that winner smile. Whenever i see good looking actors i always think, why can't Sydney make boys like that? it seems like guys my age aren't really that incredible jaw-dropping, kill me with your beauty good looking like debonair Hugh Dancy. But with beautiful actresses i always think, yeah, you know, my friends are just as pretty as them. This is NOT the case with Diane Kruger. I really know no equal for her in the pretty stakes. This girl is a one woman tour de force, and by god, she's stylish too. I would really hate her if she wasn't so nice. 

Oh, and yeah it's a nice dress, isn't it?

Everyone on tfs was saying this dress was Chanel HC for a while, and i can kind of see what they were getting at. That collection, based on a single white paper and all the promise that it brings, was stunning in its manipulation of the colour white, or its use of form and silhouette to bring together the idea of white paper and its manifestations to dress form. You can see how this dress is a beautiful fabric, heavy too, falling in thick, full drapes. It's a gorgeous cut, the Alexa i love is not the hipster cool kid but the one who wears pretty dresses and boots, a studded belt and chipped nail polish. She's rough but not too rough, not alice dellal rough. She's just like you or me? But thinner, taller, with better legs, a rock star boyfriend and a chanel 2.55. 

Sienna Miller and Anna Wintour

Oh I am so excited for this movie. Like seriously excited. And seeing these two on the red carpet together, even though Anna apparently says something snide about Sienna in the documentary, they seem to be good friends. I mean, Anna attended the premiere of the 'mysteries of pittsburgh' and has put her on the cover like 3 times, and god, i just love the two of them together. Sure, Sienna's dress is a little short for my liking but it's a gorgeous colour against her glowing skin, and she has that aura of someone who is freshly in love (i'm sure we've all seen the pics of her cavorting with a hunky stranger in ibiza) and i can't really complain about someone who's as naturally beautiful an chic as her. And Anna is incredible. The best in the biz, wears a pattern like none other, and if not an inspiration then an important figure for everyone who is seeking out a career in fashion. That pattern is gorgeous, so vibrant and exciting.
