Lara Stone backstage at the Stella McCartney show in Paris
I love looking at polaroids of models, because you get to see them in natural light, no make up, plain clothes, and the focus is on the face face face. It's sort of how you can see their model potential without having to go through the whole photoshoot palava, make up, styling, location, photographer, direction... This is simple, and simple in its beauty, but beautiful nonetheless. As a model you have to be many things, thin and tall among them, but different as well. Most of the successful models are not beautiful per se, but they are different in their facial structure and looks. A polaroid shows this up, and celebrates it, sometimes photoshoots can try to make a girl's unique face look boring, or ubiquitous. I thought i'd share with you some of my favourite models and their polaroids.
