it's just like magic!

i have been pleasantly surprised, but not disappointed, on the contrary, very happy, that emma watson hired a stylist. She is a gorgeous girl, with access to millions, and with good taste. But she is unable to put things together in a matchy-chic way. This is not a post, however, on her style, which has taken a turn for the better recently, but about the woman that she hired as her stylist; the lovely and impeccably atired Caroline Sieber.

She used to date andrea casiraghi, which makes me instantly jealous, and the fact that she is reed thin, seriously, a body that couture would love, and has a wardrobe consisting almost entirely of party dresses from the main designers (YSL, balenciaga, lanvin, burberry... *sniff*) and her shoe collection is equally as covetous. Even more than the clothes, however, i am struck by how striking and confident she is. She does not have a conventionally 'pretty' face, but the way she carries herself and the way she wears clothes is in the manner of someone who is supremely comfortable in their own skin.

I have blogged before about how i don't really think i have style icons per se, and that the way i dress is just how i am, eccentric and mish-mash. But even if my style is not like Ms Sieber's i can admire it greatly. I don't wear that many dresses, i'm more of a skirt girl, but i'm saying that if i had the money (and the legs!) then i don't think i would pass up the opportunity to slip into a slinky mini dressed couriered over from yves saint laurent with high high heels. Although i may not wear that kind of thing myself, i can appreciate that in Ms Sieber i see a real effortless chic that manages to also be bang on trend, nay, ahead of the rest of the fashion pack, purely based on her own personal taste. That is truly admirable.

Apart from Emma Watson, i don't know exactly who her other clients are, but if she can manage to keep emma on the straight and narrow sartorially wise, and get her to dress age-appropriate and chic, then she has my vote. Oh, and provided that she continues to strut around london in leather leggings, margiela blazers and killer heels. That, is of the utmost importance.

I was given a lovely little gift by the tea drinking english rose

thankyou so so so much! it was so sweet, and the best cure to pre-exam blues and freak out mode. i would like to pass the gift onto FeedMeBerries with her amazing designs and her ability to see celebrities all over New York!

To celebrate i made some lovely raspberry cupcakes and one of my dearest friends came over from her house to have tea and chat. She brought around a huge block of dairy milk filled with chocolate fudge brownie chocolate, for exam courage, she said. It certainly made me feel much better. I had my first exam today of my leavers certificate (the dreaded HSC as it is known here) and it was alright. not great, but that's my fault for not studying enough. i just hope that i go well and get into the university courser i want to do, advanced arts, which is all about writing, history, art and languages, my favourite things in the world!
