some things i know to be true, one of these - new york is a city that never sleeps. it's been a while since i walked those streets, but it comes back to you quickly, far quicker than you thought it would. those feelings, those giddy feelings - heart racing, eyes widening, smile spreading - rush forward. you're back. this time it's a new city, older, wiser. or maybe that's you. good things come in threes - PRESS PASSES, SALES, BIRTHDAY PARTIES - and there are no bad things here. Only shopping bags filled with jade rings, slouchy army jackets, and buckets full of candy. there are last minute concerts and tea dates with abby. there are after-school after-noon teas and after-after-noon tea after-hours tours of the met. there is 10 inches of snow. there are tickets (oh! the tickets). there are more chai lattes than you know what to do with and hipster cafes to fill your every need. there is anna wintour, carine roitfeld and bloody hell - street style photos. there is a lot of listening to phoenix. there is even more listening to jay z. there is one spectacular dinner party and many more nights on stoops and fire escapes. there was not enough time to talk and tell and hear and whisper all the things that have been happening this past year. but hey, it's not au revoir, it's just a bientot. till next time.
