some things defy belief. the price increase of a good macaron since the craze began (from less than a dollar to around a fiver at some of the more "discerning" shops). the rise (and rise, and rise and rise and rise) of justin bieber et al. the way a good fashion feature can be even better than a good fashion editorial - the pen is mightier than the photo, it would seem. and shoes like these. Stefano Pilato gives us reason to rejoice in footwear after years of crazy, hoof-life monstrosities that clomped when we walked and, dare I say it, the ankle-thickening netherlands footwear of choice - clogs. It's nice to realise that some shoes, really, really good ones, have to only rely on a bright colour, a scintillating platform, and a mohawk of fringe along the heel. Theatrics, but in the way that makes you want to give a standing ovation.
