There are ups and downs of being a student.
Downs: Readings, exams, the cost of textbooks, the cost of readers ($80 for some paper bound together with plastic, really?), tutorial participation marks, people who don't put library books back on the correct shelf (or at all), the lines at Taste baguette for coffee, the people at Taste baguette getting coffee, weird and unattainable consultation hours, not having class at the Quad, having class at Bosch, early starts, late finishes, maps of campus that aren't drawn to scale, no wind barriers on Eastern Avenue, the 352 bus, lost pens, the awkward looks when you're late to a lecture, the increased price of everything on campus, people who grandstand in tutorials, weird, underexperienced tutors, weird, overexperienced tutors, feedback forms, student admin fees, blisters.
Ups: Going to Clipper Cafe for banana smoothies, watermelon juice and avocado, tomato and ricotta on toast.
