mag: teen vogue, last year sometime (?)
I can't really talk enough about teen vogue. Some magazines just make me feel happy, you know, and teen vogue is one of them. And, maybe it's because i've been listening to a lot of taylor swift lately (hey, i saw letters from juliet, you can't help but listen to 'love story' on repeat after seeing that movie). Maybe it's because love is in the air at the moment - butterflies in the stomach, skin burning, breath-racing love. Maybe it's because it's become abundantly clear to me that I'm young... but I won't be forever. Teen Vogue just seems so right for now, as I pull on things like socks and ankle boots, breton tops underneath pinafores and belting little tunics over circle skirts. Teen Vogue makes everything look like the most fun in the world.
The last time I laid down in the back of a ute it was far less glamorous, and i definitely wasn't wearing heels. Teen Vogue never seems to capture that other part of youth, like grass stains and big ugly bruises and knotted hair and sunburn and sandy, dry skin. But oh! What they do well is capturing so crystal-clearly the fun side. Because it's true, when you're young and in love it doesn't matter if it's passion pop or Moet et Chandon, it tastes bloody marvellous.
