A lot of people ask me to "justify" or "explain" to them the phenomenon of the long skirt. Well, here's your answer. If you wear it correctly it can actually lengthen your body until you become a column, look at the way she rises up, tall, sleek and so, so long, just like the pillars behind her. This works on anyone, short and tall, and that's why i love the long skirt. There is something ineffably, powerfully graceful about wearing a long skirt that is immediately conferred onto the wearer. The opposite is true for short skirts - grace is often bestowed by the girl, not the skirt. I often find people are frightened of the long skirt for reasons I will never understand. The right one won't swamp you in fabric or hide your figure, it won't dampen allure or bore the menfolk. It will just bring out the best in you - grace, elegance, sophistication - and fuse it with everything that is easy, simple and totally lovely in life. I'm telling you, there is nothing to bring a smile to my face than a well worn long skirt. My personal favourites are a little fitted, but watching the grand, majestic sweep of a flowing ballgown is so happy-making.
Why should you wear a long skirt? For one simple reason: Because they are beautiful.
