No matter if a white shirt is sheer at The Row, frilly at Chloe, with outsized collars at Dries or outsized cuffs at Celine, they are always, always in fashion. Which doesn't surprise me that this season they all over the runways again. The white shirt is one of those staples of the wardrobes that minimalism is embracing, open-armed, along with high waisted trousers, a-line skirts, man-style overcoats and simple court shoes. When a white shirt is crisp and starched it reminds of tuxedo shirts and borrowing from the boyfriend, when it is crumpled and sheer it reminds me of french mornings after the night before, when it is ruffled and embellished it reminds me of girly-greats like picnic baskets, circle skirts and kitten toe slingbacks. It is a fashion chameleon, just like me.
