Oh boy. The tiredness started to sink in after staying up late last night to blog and write and tossing and turning in that chilly breeze. I struggled in for Rachel Gilbert (after debating training, how naff) and noticed hits of canary yellow. Then onto Sara Philips where the Bobbi Brown make up was clean and lived in, with earthy brown tones to complement the very organic collection - think rusty browns, flowy lines and digital snake and croc prints (as well as Yothu Yindi's Treaty blasting through the stereos). When I got back from uni in the afternoon I loved the rainbow of silky delights served up at Carl Kapp, a thing of beauty that I only really appreciated at the final walk through, with each model parading down in a dresses from peachy pink to darkest blue. Amber and Thomas proved again why they are a label garnering much buzz with a collection of fun and flirty swimsuits and separates for an easy lifestyle - diamond print blazers, printed flares and burlap dresses in rusty orange, sky blue and potato sack brown. A glass of wine at the botanicals bar before rushing off to Kate Sylvester, where the Inglis stables were transformed into a fantastic set full of flashing lights and a show filled with cool girl separates. Rachel Rutt and Julia Nobis did their thang, and the pops of canary yellow (ah! there it is again) brought it all together. Highlights? Getting the chance to eat lunch - unlike yesterday's decidedly liquid diet - with Zanita in the Rocks, the amazing show music at Carl Kapp (all bouncy beats, the kind of music I want to enter every party with), going backstage at Sara Philips and seeing the Bobbi Brown make up (smudged eyes, natural highlighting and a little bit of lilac bruising) and getting to spend some downtime with amazing blogging friends. Lovely!
one. The undone braids at Rachel Gilbert.
two. warratahs on the seats at Sara Philips.
three. the view from the second row.
four. a rainbow of diaphonous silk dresses at Carl Kapp.
five. a terrible shot, but this gold sequined skirt at Amber and Thomas that shimmied while the model walked is going to be the hero piece of next season.
six and seven. the opening and close of Kate Sylvester, blinding lights and cool girl separates.
