Last Thursday I had a great time bowling and mucking around with Ruby Rose. Wow, never though I'd write that sentence. But it really happened, with a bloggers only preview of her new collection for Milk and Honey. Filled with slashed and ripped denim, tartan, studs and printed tee shirts, the look was still hard-core rock but softened a little by the inclusion of Marant-esque sweater dresses, leggings and pumps for a retro, Sandy Dee Grease kind of feel. The collection was - according to the models - comfortable and easy to wear, and clearly totally Ruby, which you can tell. She's so down to earth and fun to be around, it was definitely an experience to sit down next to her and chat about everything from birthday parties to, ahem, free laptops.
The photos are by the amazing Darren, a blogging mate of mine. He really took some fantastic photos from the event that I have conveniently stolen, because I am a bad blogger who never brings my camera. They capture the energy and excitement of the whole thing - bowling, nibbles, champagne flowing and Ruby Rose just buzzing about, so chilled and down to earth. Extra points to readers who can spot the blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameos from Australia's Next Top Model girls (and me!). Thanks so much to Milk and Honey and Saunders PR for inviting me, I had a blast.
